Test Lead – Job Description

Role Overview

The Test Lead is responsible for planning, managing, and executing testing activities to ensure high-quality software delivery. The role involves leading the QA team, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring testing is completed on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the testing team across projects
• Prepare test plans, test strategies, and schedules
• Review test cases and test scenarios
• Coordinate with developers and product teams to resolve defects
• Track defects and ensure timely closure
• Perform test execution when required (manual/automation)
• Ensure quality standards and best practices are followed
• Provide regular status updates to stakeholders

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Manual Testing concepts
• Good understanding of SDLC and STLC
• Experience in defect tracking tools (JIRA, ALM, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of Automation Testing (added advantage)
• Good communication and leadership skills

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in Software Testing
• Prior experience as a QA Lead or Senior Tester preferred

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
