Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in phlebotomy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples from patients.

- Accurately label and process specimens for laboratory analysis.

- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

- Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and work areas.

- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.

- Provide clear instructions and support to patients to ensure comfort during procedures.

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate specimen collection.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.

- Certification as a Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant (CPT, RMA, or equivalent).

- 1+ years of experience in phlebotomy or a related healthcare setting.

- Proficiency in venipuncture, specimen handling, and medical terminology.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

- CPR certification preferred.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with EKG and vital signs monitoring.

- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

- Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Work Environment:

- Fast-paced healthcare setting.

- Interaction with diverse patient populations.

- Adherence to strict safety and infection control protocols.
