Job Title: Sports Physical Therapist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Sports Physical Therapist to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletes and physically active individuals. The role focuses on injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance optimization, and safe return-to-play using evidence-based, sport-specific interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess athletic injuries, movement patterns, biomechanics, and functional limitations
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation and injury prevention programs
- Treat acute and chronic sports-related musculoskeletal injuries
- Guide athletes through progressive return-to-play protocols
- Provide on-field or on-court injury management during training and competitions
- Collaborate with physicians, athletic trainers, coaches, and strength staff
- Educate athletes on proper technique, recovery strategies, and injury prevention
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment records
- Monitor rehabilitation outcomes using objective performance and functional metrics
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics
- Expertise in manual therapy and therapeutic exercise
- Sport-specific injury and movement analysis
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-performance environments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (required)
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent (required)
- Valid Physical Therapy license
- Experience in sports or orthopedic physical therapy preferred
- Sports specialization or certification (e.g., SCS) is a plus
Work Environment:
- Sports medicine clinics, rehabilitation centers, or athletic facilities
- May require travel and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
