Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Director of Solutions Engineering to lead and scale our pre-sales and technical consulting organization. This role is responsible for driving technical sales strategy, enabling enterprise deal success, and serving as a trusted advisor to customers, sales leadership, and product teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in enterprise SaaS, solution consulting, and sales engineering leadership, with a proven ability to translate complex technology into compelling business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers / Solutions Consultants supporting enterprise and strategic sales pursuits
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to drive revenue growth and deal success
  • Own the technical pre-sales motion, including discovery, solution design, demonstrations, value articulation, and objection handling
  • Drive large, complex enterprise deals through technical validation, ROI justification, and executive-level presentations
  • Establish and maintain deep expertise in the product portfolio, competitive landscape, and industry trends
  • Create and deliver compelling, customized demos and presentations aligned to customer use cases and business outcomes
  • Oversee responses to technical and functional RFIs/RFPs
  • Act as the voice of the customer by conveying product feedback and market requirements to Product Management
  • Support field marketing activities, conferences, and customer events as a technical evangelist
  • Build scalable pre-sales assets, demo environments, and enablement materials
  • Ensure consistent technical messaging, positioning, and solution quality across all sales engagements

Qualifications & Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Solution Consulting roles
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing pre-sales or technical consulting teams
  • Strong background in enterprise SaaS, digital experience platforms, HR tech, marketing technology, or cloud software
  • Proven success supporting enterprise sales cycles and closing multi-six and seven-figure deals
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including C-level engagement
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge technical and business stakeholders
  • Experience responding to RFIs/RFPs and managing complex technical evaluations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Harvard A.B. in Engineering Sciences strongly aligned)

Preferred Skills

  • Deep expertise in solution selling, value-based selling, and consultative sales motions
  • Strong demo storytelling and technical evangelism capabilities
  • Experience with Salesforce, digital experience platforms, HR tech, or enterprise workflow tools
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environments
  • Track record of mentoring and developing high-impact technical sales talent
