Job Description
Job Title: Payroll Coordinator Duration of Assignment: ASAP, 3 months to start; possible extension Location: Los Angeles, CA 90089 (100% Onsite) Work hours: 7.5-hour workday, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours per week) Job Description: Workday Transactions & HR Administration • Manage and distribute part-time faculty contracts • Edit and maintain part-time faculty positions in Workday • Update academic appointments and employment records • Enter furloughs and employment status changes • Process compensation changes and adjustments • Submit overload pay, bonuses, and summer compensation • Enter Period Activity Pay (PAP) transactions • Process promotions and administrative appointments • Handle employee transfers between positions Student & Employee Support • Assist with student worker position setup and updates • Submit timesheets on behalf of employees as needed • Provide support and guidance to departments regarding Workday transactions • Ensure accuracy and compliance with university HR and payroll policies Operational Support • Maintain accurate records and documentation • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely processing of all transactions • Respond to inquiries from faculty, staff, and departments • Support special projects and additional administrative tasks as assigned Must Haves: • 2+ years of administrative, HR, payroll, or workforce operations experience • Experience working in Workday 2 + years Experience with faculty contracts • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment Experience handling high-volume transactional workloads Preferred Qualifications • Highly preferred Experience in higher education or academic environments Core Competencies • Detail-oriented and process-driven • Customer-service mindset • Strong problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • High level of confidentiality and professionalism Applicant Notices & Disclaimers For information on benefits, equal opportunity employment, and location-specific applicant notices, click here At SPECTRAFORCE, we are committed to maintaining a workplace that ensures fair compensation and wage transparency in adherence with all applicable state and local laws.
